Space X Star-ship launch countdown: all you need to know about the company's maiden test flight:-

Elon Musk's stated aim of putting humans on Mars is highly reliant on the creation of a next-generation reusable spaceship, and Starship (previously known as Big Falcon Rocket or BFR) is about to launch into orbit. It's not the "six months" target Musk set for 2019, but after a series of suborbital testing that included some spectacular successes and spectacular, burning failures, the big day is finally approaching.

With just over five minutes to go before its first scheduled launch attempt Monday morning, SpaceX stated that the endeavor had become a "wet dress rehearsal" owing to a pressurization issue with the first stage, and the countdown ended with 10 seconds to go. SpaceX now says it will try again on April 20th, with a launch window between 8:28AM CT (9:28AM ET) and 9:30 AM CT. (10:30AM ET).

If all goes as planned, the Starship will reach orbital velocity after separating from its Super Heavy booster rocket around three minutes into the journey, before splashing down in the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii.

The entire journey should take around 90 minutes, and SpaceX will be live-streaming the activities on its YouTube channel.

The next Starship launch attempt by SpaceX could take place on Thursday. The launch window for the Starship flight test mission is from 8:28AM CT (9:28AM ET) until 9:30 AM CT, according to the mission page. (10:30AM ET). Yes, it is April 20th, and no, it is not a 69-minute window; it is 62. Keep an eye on our stream of updates for any additional information as it becomes available.

There has been no information on when another effort will be made. However, Elon Musk has stated that another attempt to launch the Starship will take place in "a few days."

The launch of a starship has been postponed. Elon Musk stated on Twitter that the problem preventing SpaceX's maiden Starship orbital test flight is a frozen pressurant valve. We were told during the SpaceX webcast that it would take roughly 48 hours to recycle before making another attempt, so we'll have a break for at least a couple of days.

The launch of the starship has been postponed, and it will now be a "wet dress rehearsal."After a pressurization issue with the first stage, SpaceX's maiden attempt to propel Starship to orbital velocity will not take place today. Today's events are now a "wet dress rehearsal," according to SpaceX's live stream, with the countdown ending at T-10 seconds.

Reliving some Starship hits and misses. As the countdown to today's test flight continues on the SpaceX webcast, they mention previous sub-orbital test missions. This includes the SN8 (below) high-altitude test, which ended explosively and received some attention from the FAA for breaking SpaceX's license until everything was rectified.

Who needs a Starship launch when you can pre-order a Starship torch?

You’ll just need to put down $175 and cross your fingers the torch will actually arrive in Q3 2023. Then it can sit right next to your Boring Company flamethrower.

Starship launch scrubbed. Elon Musk tweeted that the issue stopping SpaceX’s first Starship orbital test flight is a pressurant valve that appears to be frozen, so unless it starts operating soon, no launch today. It would take about 48 hours to recycle before making another attempt, so we’ll stand down for a couple of days, at least.

A different perspective on Starship. Aside from the official SpaceX webcast, you may also follow NASASpaceflight on YouTube. They're among the SpaceX fanatics that pop by to watch each launch and have their own live feed from near the Texas pad.

The live stream of the Starship test flight has begun. The "world's most powerful launch vehicle" has a live YouTube stream. The countdown now says we're less than 40 minutes away from the launch, which is still set for 9:20 a.m. ET. You can find all of the watch details and the video feed right here, or you can follow us on Twitter for updates and the live video broadcast.

Some individuals have been anticipating the launch of Starship for quite some time. With less than an hour until the first Starship launch, you still have time to see our movie (or read our narrative) about the small community of people who have uprooted their lives to live near Starbase in Texas. It's a big day for them!

How to Watch the First Test Flight of SpaceX's Starship - the Most Powerful Rocket Ever

On Monday morning, SpaceX will attempt the maiden test launch of their integrated Starship spaceship and Super Heavy booster. It is the tallest rocket ever built, standing at 394 feet (120 meters) – approximately 90 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty. It's also the most powerful launch vehicle ever created, with the Super Heavy booster outfitted with 33 of SpaceX's strong Raptor engines - the most ever included in a first-stage rocket booster.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk's idea of someday sending a crew to Mars includes a starship. It surpasses the company's Falcon 9 rocket, which is now the most commonly launched rocket in the world and is capable of carrying more cargo and a larger crew while incorporating a totally reusable design to help cut the costs of spaceflight. If all goes well, SpaceX will utilize Starship to deliver NASA's Artemis 3 humans to the moon in 2025.

Musk has set low expectations for the Starship launch. The CEO of SpaceX, Tesla, and Twitter spoke live on Twitter Spaces on Sunday night:

“If we get far enough away from the launchpad before something goes wrong then I think I would consider that to be a success. Just don’t blow up the launchpad... The chances of us triggering an abort and having to postpone the launch are high.”

SpaceX’s Starship rocket receives clearance for launch

According to CNN, SpaceX's Starship rocket has been certified for launch by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which means it might conduct its maiden orbital flight test as soon as next week.

Starship is a spacecraft planned to convey crew and cargo to Earth orbit, the Moon, and Mars using SpaceX's Super Heavy rocket. SpaceX said it plans to launch a Starship from its Texas Starbase "as soon as" April 17th.

SpaceX's Mars mission demo reel has been updated. It's been a few years since Elon Musk and SpaceX unveiled early Starship prototypes and declared that they would allow humans to go to Mars. You should watch the 2016 reveal, then watch this five-minute CG movie SpaceX just posted, which shows the Starship launching, refueling, and reaching a Mars settlement. The film is still entirely made up of visualizations and potential, but with an orbital flight test for Starship perhaps on the horizon, it feels a little different.

Starship is SpaceX's long-awaited flagship spacecraft, designed to transport passengers and payloads to destinations such as the Moon and, of course, Mars. Most crucially, the components are designed to be reusable, and it is partnered with a large booster known as the Super Heavy to get it off the ground.

Below is news from February 2023

31 out of 33 isn't a bad score. Elon Musk claims that just 31 of the 33 engines on SpaceX's Starship launcher fired, but the static fire test was nonetheless impressive. Despite this, the test went quite well, according to the NASA Spaceflight channel, opening the path for the ship to actually launch. If you want to see some flames, tune in shortly because they should start playing replays.

The SpaceX fans who left their homes and relocated to Starbase

Anthony Gomez first witnessed one of SpaceX's Starship prototypes take flight through a projector. He was a long distance from the humid Texas coast, where the launch was actually going place. Instead, he was relaxing in his Florida home with his girlfriend.

Anthony watched the Starship rocket careen into the sky from the wall of his house. When the spaceship reached an altitude of about 41,000 feet, the three Raptor engines shut down, and the gigantic steel vessel began to drop back to Earth, pitching over on its side like a grain silo in free fall. Its engines restarted just before approaching the landing pad, and the spacecraft quickly rotated upright again as it prepared to land.

Don't forget to witness the history-making launch of the next Starship on Thursday (April 20/ 2023)
